The Science Behind the Clearances

The Velove LaserPro 4 didn't earn 7 international certifications by accident. Every clearance represents a rigorous, independent review of safety, efficacy, and manufacturing quality — so you can use it on your face with complete confidence.

FDA Cleared CE Certified UKCA Certified 236 Verified Diodes 3 VCSEL Lasers + Blue LED

🏥
FDA CLEARED

U.S. Food & Drug Administration

FDA clearance is the gold standard for light therapy devices in the United States. The LaserPro 4 was reviewed and authorized by the FDA as a safe and effective low-level light therapy device for home use. This is not self-certification — it requires documented evidence of safety and performance.

🛡
CE MARK

European Conformity

The CE mark confirms the LaserPro 4 meets the European Union's strict health, safety, and environmental protection standards. Required for any device sold across 30+ European countries, the CE mark covers everything from electrical safety to biocompatibility of materials that contact skin.

📌
UKCA

UK Conformity Assessed

Post-Brexit, the UK established its own product safety standard independent of the EU. UKCA certification confirms the LaserPro 4 meets all UK regulatory requirements — a separate and additional review process from CE, not a duplicate. Two markets. Two approvals.

RoHS

Restriction of Hazardous Substances

RoHS certification confirms the LaserPro 4 is free of 10 regulated hazardous substances, including lead, mercury, cadmium, and hexavalent chromium. For a device worn directly on your face, this matters. What isn't in the mask is just as important as what is.

📋
MDL

Medical Device License

The MDL classifies and registers the LaserPro 4 as a medical-grade device under the applicable regulatory framework. This designation means the device is formally recognized within the medical device supply chain — not categorized as a cosmetic or consumer electronics product.

EMC

Electromagnetic Compatibility

EMC testing verifies the LaserPro 4 neither emits harmful electromagnetic interference nor is susceptible to interference from other devices. This means it's safe to use near phones, medical equipment, and other electronics — and that external signals won't disrupt its precision laser output.

🔌
LVD

Low Voltage Directive

LVD certification covers the electrical safety of the charging system and internal battery. All voltage levels, insulation, and power delivery have been independently tested to confirm they meet European electrical safety standards — the same standards applied to medical equipment sold in hospitals.

How We Verify Every Unit

Certifications cover the design. Here's what happens before your LaserPro 4 ships.

236 Diode Count Verified

Every mask contains exactly 72 quad-emitter chips, producing 236 total diode emitters across all four wavelengths. Each chip is inspected during assembly.

VCSEL Chip Precision

The three VCSEL laser wavelengths (665nm, 850nm, 1064nm) emit at an 11–21° irradiation angle — 1/7th the angle of traditional LED panels — for targeted tissue penetration rather than surface scatter.

Wavelength Accuracy

Each wavelength is tested against its specified nanometer output. The 460nm Blue LED, 665nm, 850nm, and 1064nm VCSEL lasers are calibrated and verified before packaging.

Battery & Charge Safety

The 1800mAh battery and 3.5-hour charge cycle are tested for thermal safety, charge consistency, and delivery during the full 40-minute operational duration.

Common Questions About Our Certifications

Is the LaserPro 4 FDA cleared for home use?

Yes. The LaserPro 4 holds FDA clearance as a low-level light therapy device for home use. FDA clearance means the device has been reviewed for safety and efficacy and authorized for its intended use. This is distinct from FDA "approval," which applies to drugs and higher-risk devices — light therapy devices are cleared, not approved, and that is the correct and expected regulatory pathway for this category.

What's the difference between FDA cleared and FDA approved?

FDA "approval" (PMA — Premarket Approval) is reserved for Class III high-risk medical devices like pacemakers and implants. FDA "clearance" (510(k)) is the standard for Class II devices including light therapy masks — it means the device is substantially equivalent to a predicate device already on the market and has been reviewed for safety. All legitimate light therapy face masks are FDA cleared, not FDA approved. Any brand claiming FDA "approval" for a light therapy mask is misrepresenting their clearance status.
